Join author Sarah Reay as she shares the story of the Reverend Herbert Butler Cowl, or the Half-Shilling Curate, as he was affectionately known by his family. Herbert Cowl was the only known Army Chaplain to be awarded the Military Cross Medal for his actions on a ship during the Great War.
This talk is part of York's Resident Festival, and is suitable for ages 14 and over.
